What do you do with a film which is purportedly a comedy and delivers not one single laugh? This thought struggled to come to the fore, but the poor thing never had a chance, given the relentless awfulness of ‘Hum Tum Aur Shabana’.

Two guys fighting over a girl, despite being the oldest idea in the book, can be freshened by a director who knows what he is doing. Is this really Sagar Ballary who helmed `Bheja Fry’? Given that `Bheja Fry’ was a frame-by-frame copy, it still required a modicum of footwork to fit that into an Indian milieu. Or was that film’s appeal down to its actors : Rajat Kapoor-Vinay Pathak- Ranvir Shorey?
